Whenever I read John Mc Crae's poem I imagine hundreds of thousands of poppies in a vast field, so dense with flowers. This summer I stood in front of an incredible poppy field at Butchart Gardens in Victoria, BC. When I gazed at the vast planting of poppies I couldn't help but be reminded of McCrae's famous poem.
