Frequently Asked Questions
We have added answers to our most commonly asked questions, please feel free to contact Shelley with any other questions.
Q: I would like to take a workshop but I haven't painted in a really long time and I don't know where to start.
A: I'm so glad you asked. My workshops are designed for the beginner artist. It doesn't matter if you have never painted or if it's been years since you have been creative. I will teach you all the basics needed to get you back on your artistic path. If creativity is tugging at your heart it's time to take that step and sign up for a workshop.
Q: How long does it take to do a commissioned painting?
A: It depends on how many commissions I have on my easel but I usually give an estimate of 4-8 weeks. It can be longer if it is a really large painting. Also if it is painted in oils the painting needs longer to dry.
Q: If I purchase a painting or commission do I own the copyright?
A: The artist retains reproduction rights and copyright of her created pieces unless she has expressly given her written and signed consent. This means that once the original painting sells, I will make prints available for purchase.
Q: How can I pay?
A: You can pay in person using eTransfer or online using Stripe (credit and debit card). Commissions are subject to a 50% non-refundable deposit at the time of booking.
Q: How much is shipping?
A: Shipping within Canada is free. International shipping method will be chosen by the artist to provide the best level of service and economy. Contact Shelley to get a shipping quote.
Q: Who pays for the customs fees and taxes?
A: The International customer will be responsible for the customs fees and taxes, not the artist.
Q: Can I get a refund on my purchase?
A: All purchases are non-refundable.
