Garden Studio Inspiration from Monet

When I was 34 I went on a trip of a lifetime. I backpacked through France, Switzerland, Italy and England with my Art College classmate.

We had the time of our lives painting, going on pottery tours and wine tours. The best though was visiting Monet’s home and his Gardens. It was breathtakingly beautiful. At that point in my life I was painting lily ponds so to actually stand on Monet’s green bridge and take in the view of his lily pond was so incredible for the young artist that I was. That experience has stayed with me all these years later. One day I want to go back there with my husband.

I have many passions and one of them is of course flowers. I love gardening, it’s so peaceful and rewarding. Every year I add more colourful perennials. The more colour, the more inspiration and joy!

Two years ago I started designing my 40 x 40 Monet-inspired Garden Studio. It’s a work in progress. I converted a garden shed into a welcoming cozy yellow summer painting studio.

My little studio has a grand view of the developing garden and I just love spending time out there. It’s an artist’s dream. I want to make it so beautiful, charming and full of inspiration that I will never want to leave.

In the summer of 2024 I will be hosting “The Garden Plein-Air Painting “workshops in my garden so keep an eye on my summer workshop listings.
